Township Trustee Meryl Peake Retires From Board

Barry County Drain Special Assessments

The Barry County Drain Commissioner has ordered special assessments on parcels in Hope Township in the Zerbal-Hine, Delton, Collins, Shallow Lake and Pierce Drains and Wall Lake/Lake Levels districts. These assessments will be included on the 2016 winter tax bills to be billed November 30. The assessment rolls are available for review at the Hope Township office and also the Barry County Clerk's office. Any questions regarding these assessments should be directed to the Barry County Drain Commissioner at (269) 945-1385.

Hope Township Board Honors Our Firefighters

After 42 years of service to the people of Hope Township, Trustee Meryl Peake retires from the Township Board of Trustees. His last board meeting was on Monday, November 14, 2016.


Supervisor Mark Feldpausch presented Mr. Peake with a token of the Township's appreciation on Sunday, November 13, at an event honoring our firefighters.


We owe a debt of gratitude to Meryl for his years of service to his constituents and his leadership and council to our Board of Trustees.


We wish Meryl and his wife Crystal many happy years in retirement.

The Hope Township Board of Trustees held a special event on Sunday, November 13, 2016, to thank all the firefighters for their service to our community. The firefighters and their families enjoyed a dinner in their honor at the Hope Township Hall. We thank them for their selfless efforts and bravery in keeping the citizens of our Township safe.
